I've been unbalanced for at least 5 years, putting time, effort and
increasing $ into a serious effort to brew something palatable with a toy
espresso matcheen. With no reservations, I started out with the steamers.
The thrift store Moka pot was the start of a completely different
experience, as were the Vietnamese filter brewer and Turkish brewing in an
Ibrik. (Got Grinder?)
The Professional barista-brewed Dreck espresso shots suitable only for
adulteration, as is the custom of the local coffee shop denizens would
diminish the utility of some of my favorite 4-letter words to describe.
"Execrable" would simply give unrealistic expectations.
Spending $2000 or more on any coffee pot is the equal of spending $1000 on a
grinder and using it on a single setting for a particular brewing style.
Coffee pots can't change their stripes. Most grinders are adjustable and one
type "being better for espresso..." is silly.
Almost silly- I guess you wouldn't drive your Maserati 450S to the store. It
wouldn't even be warmed up and running smoothly by the time you got back
home.
Cheers, Mabuhay -RayO, aka Opa!
