Topic: the Behmor incinerator experience (18 lines)

Hi all,
I've had a couple of black bean experiences as well. The first when the Behmor was brand new and I didn't know any better, the later ones when I did not pay attention or thought I had more time to do other stuff than I actually had. Live and learn! 
After clean-up with Simple green and elbow grease it still roasts and I don't leave it's side except very early in the cycle. I bring a book and settle down for the duration of the roast. The cooling handles itself. I roast outside on the deck and monitor mostly by smell and sound, but I do keep tab of the time. I don't have any roaster/bean temperature readings, but my Behmor roasts best with ambient temperatures of between 50 and 75-80, so that is the temp I keep an eye on. Low on coffee? What's the weather & temp for the day? My green bean batches are about 10 oz for regular and 12 oz for decaf on the 1 lb setting. Larger batches tend to be lighter than I like. I roast the beans individually and blend them roasted. 
On the whole, the Behmor has been remarkably resilient and forgiving for close to two years, and I'm happy with it. Sure I'm checking other roasters, but the Behmor still works and I'm not in a hurry.
