I said I wasn't going to try and dial in a 7g Cafe' Crema. Can't help
myself.
Made Debi an after work before dinner ristretto cafe' crema (RCC) (she loves
the 5oz 14g pull) of Australian LFC 2days rest. I then decided what the
heck, try a "truer" cafe' crema (CC) once again. 7gr Aussie ground 1 click
finer on Maestro, firmer tamp with the lame el plasto, cut the pull to 4oz
in 20sec. Mucho better crema than my 5oz 1gr 1click coarser 1st try earlier
today. Not near as much or as thick crema as the RCC though. Of course the
RCC version tastes stronger, closer to "espresso." Sipping the CC as I type,
fuller than Vac or FP me thinks. Not bad at all. Do I (we) like it better
than the 5oz 14g version? Different, both good. It's like is a ristretto
shot better than a standard shot. Depends on the mood.
Anyone living in the Portland, OR - Vancouver, WA area have a Solis 5000 to
compare! It'll be impossible to dial this in without knowing the target
taste for sure...
