Hi George,
The answer is "yes"...and "yes. A lighter roast will allow more chaff to
remain with your beans and certain beans will produce more chaff. Also, (in
general) a dry processed coffee will produce more chaff during roasting.
Keep in mind, there are going to be exceptions. Also, chaff won't make a
noticeable difference so don't be afraid of chaff hanging out with your
roasted beans.
