Topic: New Coffee Alert Update (50 msgs / 1096 lines)
1) From: Sweet Maria's Coffee
Hello everyone. In the near future, we will discontinue sending our
Coffee Alerts through the Homeroast list. The best way to be informed
of new additions is to keep an eye on our Twitter, Facebook and blog.
If you still want email notifications directly linking to new
offerings, click
here to learn
about getting and RSS feed.
Costa Rica Lourdes de Naranjo with syrupy body, sweet cane sugar
notes, malic acidity, and Bourbon vanilla hints.
El Salvador Finca Siberia Pacamara a very complete profile with
floral hints and fruit juice sweetness.
El Salvador Peaberry "Aida's Grand Reserve" works well across the
roast spectrum with tart acidic brightness and dark brown sugar
sweetness.
Ethiopia Illubabor Camp with apricot and peach flavors, dense body,
and a bittersweet chocolate tang.

OK folks, we get the picture. We will continue to do the new coffee alerts
here as Byron explained a few emails back in this thread. As a small
business we are simply trying to be as efficient as possible. To us it
makes sense to use things like Facebook and Twiiter which are easier for
the majority of folks to access. We do appreciate your loyalty.

Don't think of Twitter only as a way to express yourself. (clearly it's
limited) But a way to receive information. Like from writers, columnists,
or companies that sell Green coffee. While I'm not a heavy user, and I
rarely communicate on it, I really like it as a way to receive information.

The issue with Twitter is the information is rapid fire and fleeting as
it all scrolls by. If you do not see it as it happens you miss it. I DO
use Twitter and I do not want to be getting coffee availability updates
via Twitter as that is not something that fits in how I use Twitter.
Facebook is a huge security hole.

I agree about Twitter - well, as much as I've seen. I've never tried using
it very much. Also agree about the security issues w/Facebook, but I still
use it a lot. I don't use any of the apps there, though, and I try to keep
abreast of the many silent changes FB makes that are very often security
issues. But I still find it a great way to communicate with family &
friends - and express myself, usually in a silly & mindless way (which is
what I need at times). Along with Pinterest, these days...
