I haven't seen much activity in a while. Is everyone on vacation? Not sure
if this is because of summer or that I'm not receiving messages, so just
checking in.

John,
I see you use gmail. I do too, and lately a lot of list emails have
been winding up in my spam folder. You might check there to see if
that is happening in your account too.
Just to be sure you get this, I will also send it directly to your
gmail account.

I'm using gmail for this list also. I do think I have seen some
messages from this list in the spam folder. You can easily create a
filter in gmail that tells gmail "never send it to spam" for messages
that come to the list address.
I've also notcied from several other mailing lists that I am on that
they are much slower and people seem to be using facebook or google+ a
lot more these days.

Well, it seems you and Brian were right. Since August 11 for some reason
most of my list emails have been going to spam. I fixed the filter in gmail
and will see if this changes things. For others on the list, this has never
occurred before where my Homeroast list emails ended up in the spam filter.
If you ever run into problems I encourage you to look there even if you
haven't changed any settings. I didn't change any settings and it happened
to me.

Sometimes the ISP changes their spam filters without telling anyone. The majority of spam is caught before it ever gets to your mailbox, and the spammers are continually changing their messages so the filters need to change to keep up. I've seen numbers that claim that 85% of all e-mail is spam, so there's a huge amount that the ISPs need to keep up with.
I check my spam box on an occasional basis, but rarely see anything that shouldn't be there. But it's a good idea to check once in a while.

Same here. About 75% of the list emails are being treated as Spam by
my Gmail. This is a fairly recent development. Before, Gmail was
pretty good about catching the true spam, and very few false
positives. Now it's the majority of list messages being canned.
I've just updated by Homeroast filters to include "Never send to
Spam". Hopefully the true spam in the list will stay minimal.

The delays aren't only on the gmail side.  I'm subscribed via my yahoo em=
ail address and sometimes my replies to the list don't hit my inbox for a d=
ay or more.  Seems like the problem might be more fundamental than gmail =
or spam.  Also, I have yahoo setup to send all the homeroast email to a f=
older and I check my spam folder everyday, so I'm sure I'm seeing all the l=
ist email.
