Don't why it's bugging me so much yet it is. I've been a List member longer
than anyone except Tom & Maria have been with Sweet Maria's. Yet this is how
any and all messages I send are treated delaying them for days - sometimes
forever:
Spam detection software,
running on the system "host.sweetmarias.com", has
identified this incoming email as possible spam. The original
message
has been attached to this so you can view it (if it isn't spam) or
label similar future email. If you have any questions, see
the administrator of that system for details.
Of course this message too will be detected as spam just like the one I sent
a five and half hours ago that has yet to be "approved"...
Too bad, I've loved the List for a long time but not being able to have
timely interacation makes it now a waste of my time.

Yep, that's the header I'm talking about that started up some time ago.
Can't say I don't understand. It's the 'sometimes it isn't worth
chewing through the chains' bit.

This looks like it is from Spamassassin. What I would do every time a
message gets scored into spam from a legit sender, manually add that
sender to the whitelist so it never happens again. With most webhosts
this can be done through a web based control panel. This way at least
frequent posters never get bounced to spam and don't have to wait.
Also if your getting bumped to spam all the time, you could try a
different e-mail provider for the mailing list.
A facebook group can also function in a very similar manner to a
mailing list and as long as you make sure people are legit that you
let in there should be virtually no spam (unless a valid member has
their account hijacked).

Take out the active links in your posts, or move them to a "secured" host,
and see what happens. Odds are that's what is being flagged by the "spam
detector".
It is right and proper that the list server should be "aggressive" about
such things . . . it protects all of us. Don't quite understand why any of
us should expect to be "special" . . .

Testing link theory. It ain't about being "special", it's about being a List
member for 11 years then suddenly not really.

Active links in e-mails on a mailing list is a very good way to get the
spam detector to notice your email. Quit stomping on the dragion's tail
and you will not get singed.

I hope the link to the archives isn't one of the "active links".
Whenever I want to find the archives, I look through miKe's posts till
I get to one with that link at the bottom.

Because I replied to a message that had been flagged. Look farther up in
the header and you will see another -spam- line with a long string of
hex code.

Notice that the -spam- message is even in messages that are not being held.

Hello everyone. We are still looking into this but hopefully, we have it
resolved. Thanks for your patience. Our system filters out certain emails
and we approve them as soon as we notice they are not spam so certain
emails may take a little while to post especially if they are filtered out
over the weekend.

Looking at the header time stamps it looks like the sending delay is at
the sender ISP.
