Topic: Bunn Trifecta MB Users (4 msgs / 73 lines)
1) From: Jon Rosen
I bought a Bunn Trifecta MB a couple of months ago and I've been getting some very good cups of coffee with it. Best of all, every cup is fresh and hasn't been sitting in a thermos or carafe for a few hours. Are there any other Trifecta users on this list? I'd like to compare notes and methods and figure out ways to get even better cups from the machine.

I will be interested to read any responses to this. My dad's 25 year old
technivorm died. It's been shipped to Boyd's but probably can't be
repaired. They joked they wanted it for a museum.
Actually, I really wonder how the consumer model compares to the commercial
model. I got to sample some tastes from the commercial product a few years
back and liked the flavor (and show) a lot. Clover for a fraction the price!

Not to discredit your opinion in the least, I personally find the clover to
be a superior cup to the trifecta. That said, I'm not convinced either are
worth the premium. I'd just as soon do an americano any day.

For what it is worth, Tom and the other cuppers here use the Trifecta all
the time to "re-cup" lots. They used to brew up a pot in the Technivorm but
with all of the variables the Trifecta offers they rarely use any other
brewing machine. The simplicity of the Trifecta results in more aromatic
brews than any other method since there is no paper filter and great
control over brew time. The agitation feature is the real game changer. One
can shorten the brew cycle to two minutes and still achieve proper
extraction. How much does a Clover cost again? You did say Clover not
Clever, right?
Happy Brewing,
