Topic: maestro classic part (6 msgs / 125 lines)
1) From: Michael Schinasi
Perhaps someone on the list can help out with this. I was cleaning my
Maestro Classic grinder, which for years has given me excellent service for
drip coffee, and I have a part that I am not sure what to do with. it is a
fel ring; like a felt gasket of some sort. I think that this is the part:http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=maestro+classic+burr+grinder+parts&go=&qs=n&formIR#
It seems too big to wrap around the platic burr housing; not sure if mine
just became stretched over the years. I think the grinder will work
without it it; I suspect though that it keeps dust from getting into
something. Does anyone have any idea on where it goes?

I'm trying to remember the exact placement but I seem to remember that it's
purpose is to keep grounds from hindering adjustment. I just moved and
dont know where my old Mastro is located at the present time. As soon as I
locate it I'll take it apart.

Thanks. I found out it goes around the under side of the bean hopper.
The tech support person I spoke with at Baratza is sending me a new one for
free. I turns out I need a paddlewheel that the burr sits on. tha
was --hopefully-- the real problem with my grinder. It looks like there
is another, smaller felt gasket around that paddlewheel. Customer service
from Baratza was, by the way, excellent; I was impressed by their interest
and should anyone who reads this be in the maket for a mill I would not
hesitate to purchase one of their machines.

Baratza customer service is phenomenal. There's nothing like it anywhere.

I've gotta agree with Doug on the quality of Baratza Customer Service. Last
month the burr holder on my Maestro went bad. I called Baratza in the
morning, and they had one in the mail the same day; it arrived at my PO Box
the following day.
