Kishr -- a beverage based on the dried coffee cherry fruit. Just curious
if anyone has tried this or anything like it. http://kishr.com/about/ As
I read the text in the "about" page, it seems this beverage is a traditional
Yemeni beverage, sort of tea-like.

I've seen drinks at wholefoods that had coffee cherry fruit in it. I think
the term "super fruit" is way overused at this point.

Sweet Maria's offers Kishr on occasion. Not my cup of tea though.

Tom offered this a couple, years ago and I bought a small amount.
The tea tastes much like the herbal teas that use hibiscus and rose hips.
Slightly citrusy; not particulalry deep in its flavor; i suppose you could
say "refreshing." There is NO hint of anything like coffee flavor in it at
all.
You can steep it a long, long time and it doesn't become bitter or overly
acidic. It makes a nice addition to sun tea recipes. I like it fine, but
not enough to seek it out.

Kirk,
Thanks for mentioning sun tea. We primarily brew tea in the fridge cold
brewed. I still have some kishr and may have to try that. Or else sneak
some in the next batch of Kombucha.
