Topic: Twice roasted (2 msgs / 47 lines)
1) From:
Just this last week I read an article about a roaster whose signature blend
is twice roasted. That's all it said, it was just a brief sentence- but it
raised my curiosity. I was going to see if there was anyone on the list who
lived near this roaster and could give us a first hand report.
Now I can't find the article anywhere! How frustrating! I thought it was
in the recent issue of the Specialty Coffee Retailer, but now I've read all
the articles twice and can't find it!
Well I'll keep searching and if I find it I'll let you know!

I don't know who that roaster is, but a women who
said she had worked for "Charbucks" in Vancouver told
me that they often reroasted beans. I thought that
sounded pretty far fetched, but when my wife's first
attemt at roasting came out too light for SHB I
remembered the double roasting rumor and found that
after a short time at about 475 degrees a rapid second
crack happened .I cooled them quickly and found that
all the oil had come to the surface and it looked
quite "fancy", tasted like "Bigbucks", felt harsh in
the tummy.
