I love home roasting!
Recently, something spurred me to go beyond my level of espresso and
coffee knowledge, and to learn more, and to try to produce better
espresso. The results were that I learned a lot, but that the quality of
my shots became very erratic as I tried to master new equipment and new
This morning, using my new grinder and some home roasted beans, I
produced a very nice shot. Lovely crema, the taste I like, everything as
it should be. I know that from here, it only gets better. As I get more
skill with roasting (and a more developed taste for different blends),
with tamping, etc. things will just be tastier.
What a fun obsession!
