I've thought of that too but the problem is freshness. Would have to be
shipped fast. Express postage is $12.45 for up to 8oz including packaging,
then $16.25 up to 2#. Could get spendy... but hey, it's in the name of
coffee science!

What about sealing in a valve bag, and vacuuming it.  Priority mail is $3.50
for up to a lb, an usually takes about 3 days in the continental US.  The
Post office will even give you a priority box free that is just the right
size for a valve bag.  I send coffee this way about once a month to my Dad
in Phoenix.
