Topic: The 'coolest' CSA tamper (2 msgs / 45 lines)
1) From: Mike McGinness
Don't shoot me Les but I gotta brag! Just received a custom wood tamper from
Les, Pacific Northwest Myrtlewood handle with Hawaiian Koa tamper base & top
I believe. Great wood contrast. Beautiful grains. And a logo? A mercury dime
inlaid in the top of the handle with CSA engraved in it!!! About 4-1/2 inch
tall and a perfect 58mm fit. Reminds me of a chess piece Castle. Absolutely
gorgeous. (Just in case anyone is wondering I'm paying for it in greens. A
pound each of JBM Moy Hall, CR Miel and Bali Shinzan.)
Hey Les, if this catches on you many never have to buy greens again!
Many thanks!
MM;-)

Mike,
I am glad that you like your tamper!! I am such a critical person when it
comes to my work! I am currently working on a tamper for our leader Thomas
Owen!!! I sure am glad that I have pushed the St. Helena question to the
point that he has finally spilled the beans and we can expect to see an
offering from Sweet Maria in about a month!!! With his two pound limit last
year quickly reduced to 1 pound, I don't hold out much hope for getting a
5lb limit!! No way is this coffee monsooned! It is bright, clean, complex
and oh so good! I sure am glad that your tamper arrived safely, and I hope
that Miss Silvia is pleased with her new accessory! I am enjoying the fun
of this group, and look forward to some of the other crazy avenues we may go
down. I pulled some excellent shots of Maui Kaanapali Moka this AM. I am
down to less than 2lbs of this great stuff! I made Amerciano as usual and
can't believe the wonderful flavors of maple syrup and chocolate! I sure
hope this farm get revived!
Your friend and coffee nut,
Les
