I've not fiddled with this thing, yet, but I have a few thoughts.
How about drilling a hole in the bottom of the glass Turbo bowl, mount a small gear motor under the bowl, and run a shaft up inside the Turbo for a stir rod? Take a round cake pan, drill a hole in the middle, and place over the center shaft, and then put a stir crazy style rod on the shaft. You'd need to figure how to mount the motor (maybe a board base under the whole unit) and how to construct the stirring arrangement, but it would basically be like a stovetop popcorn popper with a turbo oven head on it.
I think you can drill Pyrex if you have the right drill bit (ceramic tile bit?) and a drill press. Just be slow and easy at it.
You'd then have to get the chaff off as it wouldn't blow away, but I don't think that would be tough to do. Maybe with the right sized cake pan, the chaff would fall down between it and the outside of the pyrex bowl?
Darn, it sure seems like a workable solution, I may have to get me a turbo oven. I'm looking to improve my espresso flavor, and a drum style roast is my kettle of fish.
Comments???
