I roasted some Yemen Mokha Ismaili (Hirazi) and some Java Jampit this eve=
ning.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a starting point on blending some
Mokha-Java? 50/50? 70/30?

Rick,
I always start with 50 /50 on my Mokha-Java Blends. I just roasted up some
Yemen Mokha Ismaili (Hirazi) tonight as well! As it is my first experience
with this bean, I am going to play with it straight before blending with an
Indonesian. My personal favorite Mokha-Java is a 50/50 blend of Harrar
Horse with Sumatra DP. (this may change)

Whew...did some Ismaili and Sulawesi and hit cloud nine. Thick, rich,
chocolately goodness. With a certain - er- je ne sais quois. Never had the
Ismaili before but it will be added as a staple for sure. It was one of
those moments where all I had been struggling for/with over the last month
and a half of monomaniacally pursuing espresso art came together. Three
strawberries on the slots!

I generally like 50-50, but with the Jampit, you might take it down a bit
into the blend... especially if it's for espresso. Too much body, IMO.
