Does any one have any information about a Captain Cook Coffee Company. =
in Hawaii?
I was wondering if Tom may have bought any Kona from this Brokerage?
If this is something that shouldn't be on this list. I apologize .

You didn't give their URL so it's usually ok. I'd speculate as to the reason
for your question (eBay & CCMCoffee maybe?) but won't :-) Captain Cook
Coffee Company is similar to Greenwell Farms. They are a Mill that buys
coffee cherries from hundreds of small Kona farmers then process and sell
the mixed Estate Kona. They do also have their own small farm but the VAST
majority of Captain Cook Coffee Compay Kona is from other farms. BTW, the
price for 5# through CCM was so cheap (came out to $6.50# after shipping) I
couldn't resist, 5# on it's way yesterday. With 'only' a dozen or so top
single Estate Konas in my stash thought it'd be interesting to see if it's
any good. At that price figured what the heck. If it's too mediocre I'll
roast it and give it away! It'll probably get used as the dark component I
use for my Kona Vienna melangé roast for espresso and especially my white
chocolate kona mochas (two batches: one top Kona to 445°f 12min, second
batch lesser Kona to 465°f 13min)

Yes, Tom has carried Captain Cooks in the past.
Mike McGuiness is the real expert on konas though- well compared to me that
is! :) I think he has been over to their plantation.

Thanks I forgot Mike M was such an authority on Kona, I would have =
contacted him off list. I quess if you read the list daily like I do, =
you saw that Mike replied to my request.

Yes Mike your guess was correct I did see it on E-bay but wasn't sure =
about the quality of CCM's beans, and I wasn't sure about talking about =
this on list. I do buy the majority of my greens from SM, but =
occasionally by some elsewhere. thanks for the reply
