Topic: Going Ape over Monkey Blend (29 lines)
1) From: Les & Becky
Tom is much too honest of a guy. He promotes the Monkey Blend as an
espresso only drink. He does lack some salesmanship, and he has admitted it
in the past. Or, maybe he just doesn't want to have to blend too much of it
up! I am fortunate enough to have Alchemist John as a near roaster, and we
have enjoyed some cups together and have a good friendship going. One
unique thing about John is he doesn't always follow the "rules." I am not
sure if it is still true, but when we have shared brews in the past, he said
that drip brewed Monkey Blend was his favorite. My guts said, "CSA heresy!
Tom doesn't even give it a rating because it isn't suppose to be brewed."
When he brought some over, I naturally pulled shots! Hey it was great.
However, I would have never ordered any if Alchemist John hadn't brought
some over. Well, this A.M. I was running late, and didn't have time to pull
shots, so I made a vacuum pot of Monkey Blend. Hey! it was great. Nice
rich flavor and a mellow sweetness as well. I am not sure why Tom doesn't
like it brewed. Well it hit 100 at my house today. I was too lazy to blend
up an iced coffee, so I just put crushed ice in a glass and poured the left
over Monkey Blend over the crushed ice WOW!! what a super iced coffee drink.
I would have guessed there was sugar added, but I know there wasn't. It is
a new favorite iced coffee! If you want a good iced coffee with little or
no fuss, give it a try! Sometimes simple is better.
