I've been lurking for a while - started roasting in June with the Caffe Rosta from SM. Must say the Zimbabwe Salina AA+ to Full City is the best cup of coffee I've evr had with the La Berlina a close 2nd. As a side to the questions on Zimbabwe and their treatment of white farmers, I believe we should keep buying as coffee is a hard currency.
As far as the *$, what about pre-Starbucks? The first great of coffee I ever had was in the 70's at Dunkin Donuts. Go to Boston where there is one on every corner. Its not homeroast, but a far cry from 7-11.

I'm with you, Ellen. I don't see a small-scale embargo of Specialty =
Coffees helping poor coffee farmers.

The Dunkin' Donuts blend is unique. It is sweet and nutty. I think it =
is a Mexican robusta with a little Costa Rican or Guatemalan arabica =
thrown in for depth. What keeps the robusta from overpowering the cup =
is that they brew it water weak. just a guess... Dan
