I was going to make up pre-ground packets like I usually do for travel but
decided that for 9 days, driving destination not flying, I'd go max extreme!
I seriously thought of taking Miss Silvia but literally ran out of room. Our
poor Pathfinder was literally packed to the roof all the way from behind the
front seats all the way to the back. Major kite display gear of course, two
coolers, 8 gallons filtered water (for coffee), two boxes of coffee
supplies, oh and one large suitcase for clothes!

No not Japan or Hawaii (Kona Festival again in November though!), the
Washington State International Kite Festival. Considered the top kite
festival on the west coast and one of the top in the World. The Shelburne
Inn has a second secluded place overlooking Baker's Bay in Ilwaco - China
Beach Retreat -(http://www.chinabeachretreat.com/) We haven't stayed there
yet but walked through it Monday before heading home. A totally devine place
for a quiet get away. We're planning a late Winter / early Spring long
weekend there next year.

Have a great time.
