I think Gary has already served a self administered punishment - after al=
l
he DID drink the stale coffee! Maybe a couple of cups of Vietnamese Robus=
ta
to purge any final evils.
John - we really need to work on that portable coffee bar!!

I'm traveling. I have a hotel room that includes an electric drip coffee
maker, and the maid leaves prepackaged coffee when she makes up the room
("Barrista" coffee packed by Boyds company).
I don't generally use that stuff. I didn't bring pre-roasted coffee with
me, but I did bring my grinder. After one day of the "continental
breakfast" coffee (pretty insipid), I went and bought some roasted beans
from a local roaster I know, and brought a hot pot and Melitta filter stuff
from my parents' house to use.
The roasted beans I bought were a little too intense for me - roasted too
dark. I tried an experiment to temper the taste, and "adulterated" the
coffee: When I made my morning coffee, I tried adding about 1/4 to 1/5 by
volume of the pre-ground, stale stuff from the package left by the maid.
It was good.
It took the "edge" off the dark-roasted beans, but wasn't enough of the
stale stuff to seriously detract from the overall taste (to my taste, anyway).
Please forgive me. :)

SM,
Please abolish Gary from the list.

Don't be too harsh :-) Gary can stay on the list but gets a kazillion CSA
demerits! Though his statement 'it was good' could/should be grounds for CSA
ejection (His referring to the blend of not only local roaster over roasted
coffee BUT adding some of that pre-ground pre-packaged Boyd's Barrista hotel
pack, nasty stuff as I recall from the past...) At the least a CSA
suspension...

I'll be happy to do my absolutions with a solution. I'm visiting the San
Francisco Bay Area, so had a visit to the Church: Sweet Maria's new temple
o' beans.
Came out of there with 11 pounds of hail arabicas for penance.
Now THAT's the kind of religion I can get into!

....and it'll come from hotel or airline prepackaged coffee supplies.
