Topic: Peace among friends (17 msgs / 468 lines)
1) From: John Abbott
Yesterday I did something uncharacteristic for me, and I'm terribly sorry. I
lashed out at somebody - over something really unimportant to the rest of my
life. I probably alianated poor Mark and for that I'm equally sorry.
I've noticed that over the past five or six days we've been more at each
other than usual. Is it possible that all the replays of the 9/11 tragedy
have angered us again - and we don't know how or where to direct it?
This is THE most wonderful list on the Internet. I learned and continue to
learn more here than in all the books I've read - and probably more than
from all my bad roasts. I don't want that spoiled by me - or anyone -
please.
If we lived close I would invite everyone over for some pretty good coffee
and some great conversation. I know that you are great folks and you would
be welcome here any time - no invitation needed - just call so I've got all
my clothes on.
Now - I need to finish with - I'm not your Dad or your Pastor - but I hope I
m your friend.

Stunning how we Americans do that! I think its more of a compliment than=
 a
slight though, thinking of everyone being a neighbor. And even though we
don't drink the most coffee in the world, we think we do ;O) I don't k=
now
that I'd have done any better - we were going through our 9/11 Remembranc=
e
on what has been now labeled Patriots Day. A lot of national pride flowin=
g.
I'll go to bed tonight being ashamed - not because I was corrected by an
Aussie - but by a ....woman! OK we're male chauvinist pigs too :O) And =
I
hope you know I'm joking.
I look forward to the day when we can hoist a cup of Mauritius Coffee -
brewed on your very own Finca!

Nice post from both John and Ron. This is a great list. I have found that I've genuinely liked every true coffee lover I've come across. We have a common passion.
Let's all go hoist a hot cup of Joe and celebrate being Americans. Even with all my griping, we are still the most fantastic country on the planet.

This is a great list, with a lot of different backgrounds that make our
hobby so much fun! We have at least one doctor, many chemists, etc.

I checked 'my' coffee trees yesterday - not a cherry in sight! Looks like
the season is over, and a very small one at that because of the cold, wet
weather, so will have to wait until next year.
