Topic: Green Jamaican beans (22 lines)
1) From: KFarney
I received from a friend recently returning from Jamaica about four pounds
of green beans. Without wanting to appear ungrateful, I gladly accepted
them with a kind thank you and without finding out what variety they might be.
Wondering has finally got the best of me, so I turn to the list. The green
beans are nice and of a pretty decent size. Prior to first crack the beans
swell and turn very yellow. They must be on the heavy side as they don't
churn easily in my FR. First crack announces itself clearly and very
deliberate. I stop the roast just before second crack.
The roasted beans are of nice size and aroma without much trace of
chaff. I am looking forward to brewing a pot in a couple days.
Any thoughts as to what these mystery Jamaican beans might be? I am
doubting they are Blue Mountain since probably very little of it stays on
the island for local sale.
