Topic: We Ban Yuban (15 msgs / 266 lines)
1) From: Billy Bump
Wait. Did I say I LIKE Yuban (nervous twitch, eyes blinking rapidly)? I, I meant to say (gulp, twitch, twitch) I TOLERATE Yuban. Yeah, that's what I meant to say. Barely drink it. Hardly at all. Sometimes in the morning, but only if I'm forced to. It's a sad thing, really.

I don't know about the rest of the CSA board, but I'd approve you for a
probationary membership based on this post!

Hmmm, while we are on the subject - I actually purchase and drink Folgers whole bean at work. It's the Classic Supreme version. It says 100% Arabica.
No, it's not homeroast, and it's certainly not perfect, but it's quite drinkable when brewed hot and strong in my Bunn. I find it better than Eight O'Clock 100% Columbian, which had some really weird off notes. This stuff still has some off notes, but not as bad. It's roasted Full City with just a hint of oil on a few beans, and it's relatively fresh when I buy it. Oh, and it's WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY better than the weak dreck office coffee service cr*p they normally make at work.
Reason why I buy this stuff is 1) it's cheap and 2) I have 4 or 5 people drinking out of my pot. I'd be roasting every day 2 or 3 batches to keep up.
Now, if I had a Hottop at work......

CSA does not concern itself with cost or practicality. What could you be
doing that's more important than roasting 2 or 3 batches daily? I'm sorry
Chris, but you're on probation too. :^)
