Topic: shipping times (34 lines)

Hi there. I've never posted to this list but have
been reading it for several weeks. Am also somewhat
of a regular on alt.coffee and coffeegeek. Anyway,
I'm amazed at how upset many of you are about the
longer transit times & slightly higher shipping rates,
now that SM's is on the east coast. I live in Phoenix
and for the past two years have just made sure to
order a week ahead of when I need it and to order
large quantities, since shipping one 20 pound package
is cheaper then shipping two 10 pound packages. Plus,
you get a price break from SM's, when ordering larger
quantities of a single type. If you're in the UPS 4
day transit zone (as I was when SM's was in OH), it
"seems" faster if you order on Sunday night (hopefully
order is processed on Monday & rec'd on Friday). (But
then that's with a 3 hr time difference ahead of AZ -
now, you folks back east could order first thing
Monday am before SM's is open.) Anyway, if you order
on Friday, UPS is closed for the weekend, so you've
added 2 more days to your turn around time, just by
when you ordered. And besides, aren't all good things
worth waiting for???
