Topic: MR16 (SoLux) Halogen Light Sources (37 lines)
1) From: Irene and Lubos Palounek
"Replacement bulbs are $7 from Home Depot" wrote Kevin. As I mentioned
before, our Home Depot does not stock the SoLux® lamps / bulbs in question.
As Sweet Maria's - Tom do not plan to sell light bulbs, I think it is OK to
point readers to a site with reasonably good prices for SoLux® lamps:http://www.bulb-source.com/solux.htmor 1-888-440-0827 (Toll Free)
Clipping from their site:
SoLux Natural Daylight™
The Spectral power distribution of SoLux is identical to daylight across the
visible spectrum. The result is true color rendition of everything from
sparkling jewels to clothing to sensitive art collections.
The beam uniformity of SoLux is unsurpassed. Other MR16 and incandescent
reflector lamps emit uneven or splotchy intensity patterns which distract
the eye and change the appearance of an illuminated object.
No Minimum Order. Buy 10 or more and you pay only $6.75 each with Free
Shipping
I am not saying you cannot get the SoLux® lamps / bulbs for less somewhere
else; maybe you can. Just don't let a salesperson to convince you that their
cheap "general" bulb is as good as the SoLux®. Yes, I know, in addition to
the SoLux®, there are other good "full spectrum" lamps, but they are usually
quite expensive.
Even the clipping above has some marketing hip. The spectrum is not
"identical" to daylight, but is close enough for our needs.
Cheers, Lubos
