Topic: FedEx versus UPS again. (2 msgs / 34 lines)
1) From: jim gundlach
Earlier I wrote about how FedEx promises earlier delivery than UPS. I
noticed this when I started tracking the Rocky being shipped from
Auburn, California. The tracking info listed anticipated date of
delivery as yesterday. In fact, the tracking said that it went onto a
local truck for delivery at 7:06 a.m. yesterday. Well as of today,
there is still no delivery. So at best it will be Monday, not
significantly earlier than UPS would have been. I find the failure to
deliver as promised more irritating than UPS's deliberately delaying
shipments to not compete with their higher priced express delivery. The
problem with the service economy is that it fails to serve.

I have found this to be the case quite often with FedEx, virtually always
with an"I'm sorry, it was beyond our control". After the third time, it
failed to hold water.
