What a great idea! I'll have to give it a try next
time! I should have another roasting session in
another day or two.

What I use is the small pump from a Vacu-vin. If I'm in a hurry, I just
suck the air out with my mouth. There's really not that much...

I just tried Ed's method using the vacuum I have under the counter (an
electrolux) for grind cleanup... I got an instant brick. I will use this
when I freeze in the future. Thanks, Ed!

Ted...the idea actually came from Barry Jarrett over on alt.coffee, and I saw
him do it when I was at his 'altie' Christmas shindig last year.

If you are hesitant to use the same vacuum as the one that sucks on
your floor, an electric pump for air mattress is inexpensive ($10 or
so) but capable of operating at somewhat high pressure, low volume
condition. Make sure the pump can also *deflate* the mattress, though
I think it's common.
