The wife really likes this decaf that Tom is offering. I bought 2 lbs. a =
while back, and after roasting some just through 1st crack, and resting =
12 hrs. My wife Elaine, likes her coffee bright, and does not like the =
roast taste of darker roast. She said it still tasted great after 4 =
days. I do vacuum seal for storage. I thought I'd stock some more in and =
ordered 5 more pounds. 7 days from the west coast to the east coast, so =
no mater when I order it will sit in the big brown truck for about 1 =
full week.
I profiled a roast last night, still just through 1st. crack. but slowed =
the roast down with the cool switch on my WBII, and kept the roast at a =
constant 415 degrees through first crack using a paluze 550 degree =
thermometer, first crack finished at about 7 minutes, and slowly raised =
the temp. to 450 degrees, at this point about 11 min. I switched to =
cool, the total time was 13 minutes coffee down to 175 degrees when I =
dumped in the colander. cool to room temp and vacuumed sealed in mason =
jar. Nice and brown looked to be a dark city roast, but usually to get =
this I need to go into 2nd. crack. Mabey it was the stretched out =
profile that allowed the beans to darken up. I usually do a 10 min total =
and the beans come out city to light city?
off to work, have a good day
