Kevin, Thankyou for a detailed breakdown on the FR.I have now increased =
the batch size to 60g (from 50g) and have found the following figures.I =
roasted 60g of Mandheling,Guatemala, Columbian,Costa Rica.The times and =
temp to first crack in order were,2m58s-- =
240c,2m20--245c,2m17s--233c,2m10s--243c. I use a thermocouple bead probe =
which I drop through a small hole as you do with the probe. The fine =
thermocouple does not hinder the beans movement and the thermometer =
being digital I get erxact readings. The second cracks in the same order =
were,3m30s--240c,3m20s--250c,3m12s--246c,3m0s--246c. The thermometer is =
in celcius.The ambient temp was 20c.We are 100meters above sea level.No =
I don't run to a palm so the variables are beyond me.Oh, I did roast the =
costa Rica with the soup tin mod and the comparison is--3m28--228c to =
first crack and 5m05s--240c to second crack which I ran to 6m05s to go =
to cool. Have yet to grind and compare.Ray
