Topic: Argh! Kona Classic (blend) gift! (3 msgs / 81 lines)
1) From: Mike McGinness
Debi just handed me a bag as she said "here's something to play with". It's
an unopened bag of whole bean pre-roasted in Hawaii, dreaded Kona Blend
tourist trap coffee. (That be the 90% fumigated before roasting unknown
Arabica, 10% bottom of the barrel Kona stuff I speak so highly of...)
Someone at work gave it to her...:-( At least it's not pre-ground like last
time someone thought they were being nice!:-)
Hey Les, I think I'll include it in the Kona cuppings we'll be doing Sunday
just for kicks!

Mike,
That sounds like you are getting close to adding Vietnam Robusta to the
cupping! I pulled some nice Americanos from Tom's new Honduras SHG
Organic. It was a very nice smooth coffee, not as bright as a Panama, but
smooth and complex. I have also enjoyed a couple of vac pots of the
"African Highland WP Decaf." It is a very complex cup! It has much more
depth than any decaf that I have ever had. Most decafs are thin in flavor,
this cup explodes in your mouth and you have a nice long aftertaste. It is
hard to believe it is a decaf!

Looking forward to Sunday!
