A few months ago I started using the fairly new, disposable plastic =
ziplock storage containers for my roasted beans. They come in various =
sizes with secure - even when dropped on the floor -snap on lids. And =
they are perfect for klutzes like myself - they don't shatter when they =
fall from counter height and hit the tile floor. I just made up a few =
sheets of labels with places for roast and bean details and slap one on =
the lid when the beans go in. When they're gone the labels easily peel =
off the plastic lid. It is also fun to watch the lids dome less and =
less with each passing morning as the co2 and aromatic oils leave the =
beans. By about the fifth morning when the lid is dead flat I know its =
time to finish them off or dump them out. Oh, and they are also cheap, =
about $0.30 each so I don't mind when I don't get them back after =
sharing some fresh roasted with a friend.

I've found that my beans last about half as long in those ziplock
containers as they do in a good mason jar. But, that is good enough for
the beans I take to work, and they are a lot lighter, and less
breakable.
Be well,
Lissa
