Topic: Mike's Kona trip (2 msgs / 40 lines)
1) From: Charlie Herlihy
So MM is going to Kona very soon to pick up a couple of sacks
of that good stuff-congrats Mike! It makes me wonder, though,
how early is the harvest there? In order to be ready to sell in
a few weeks it should have already been picked, washed and dried
by now, and stabalizing in a warehouse for a month or so. Oaxaca
isn't that much farther south and even the lowest elevation
beans there won't begin to be picked for another 2 weeks, the
Pluma in early December, and the real high stuff in March! Is
the harvest underway, or even finished in Kona, Mike?
curious Charlie

Kona harvest typically runs from July/August to December/January. )I've been
sampling new crop Kona, not 01/02.) Hence the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival,
celebrating the Kona harvest, is held annually in November!
