Topic: Krups grinder (4 msgs / 64 lines)
1) From: Owen Davies
I didn't realize Krups made a burr grinder. There were
several in the local Bed, Bath, and Beyond today. For
$50, it seemed remarkably well made. Anyone know
whether it's any good?
That's my other decision problem: what to do about
a grinder. I can't see spending over $500 at the moment
for a Solis Master 5000, but I also don't want to buy the
burr mill on its own when the 5000 is in my future.
(Unless the SL-90 also produces a 6-oz cup when it's
needed, and Tom just forgot to mention it. Somehow,
I doubt it.)
Gaaah!

For $50, I would go for a Bodum Antigua and tweak it(instructions abound).
If you plan on using the Krups(is it the BaristaII?) for espresso, you will
have to tweak it, also. The main negative about the Krups is the
noise..It's unbearable, One guy on a.c. said his cats would run out of the
room every time he started it up....it screams :-)
BTW, it originally sold for $125....talk about being overpriced!
Ciao,
Angelo

Thanks, Angelo. That lets it out. Our cat isn't very
tolerant at the best of times.
I'll probably go with the Solis from Tom and Maria, unless
anyone has a strong argument for some other model in the
same price range (or lower.)
