Hey Dan, I'm not able to get a match to any of the swatches, I get close =
but not to where the bean disappears into the color of the swatch?
I roasted some Kenya AA tonight, 15 sec. into 2nd crack, using a FR+ =
about a 7 min roast. to about 434 degrees. Full city no oil, just nicely =
dark, the closes color match was a SW5. What has your experiences been? =
Or anyone else that received some of Dan's color Swatches.

I think I read that the technique for matching color involves grinding the
beans and then making the match - might have been in Ken Davids' book.

Ron, First off, match the VALUE (light to dark) not the COLOR (hue).
Second, if the value is halfway between SW4 and SW5, then I'd call it a
SW4.5 simple, eh I would have included more than 8 swatches, but SW does
not have that fine a step, so, we'll have to guess at the in-between values.
Does that help? Dan

Dan -Thanks for the paint chips! I am trying to find my SCAA roast
color kit so I can compare them to the chips. (Theres a few things I
still cant find from the move...) They look very accurate though.
Hey -if Paul Sunde is on the list, thanks for all the data-logger
info! I have a new one on order, but in the meantime I can
successfully datalog temperatures using my craftsman DMM. Thanks!

Tom,
Any chance you might reference the SW swatches in your bean reviews?

That's a simple thing, I like simple things. Thanks Dan
