I've noticed that the FP coffee sometimes seems punchier than
filter. I certainly prefer FP over filter if time and situation allows.
One thought that came to mind was that more of the water is in
contact with the coffee for longer in the FP.
Or, you may be drinking more miniscule particles of coffee grounds
in the FP, particles that the filter would catch.
Another possibility is that the filter paper may be trapping some of
the caffeine or flavorois. This can be gotten around a bit by
presoaking the filter.
Just some thoughts ..

D. Schomer data from an outside lab regarding mg of caffine per gram of
coffee: more in processes that require longer extraction time. Makes sense.
