There's no particular caffeine antidote - see http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/caffeine/caffeine_data_sheet.shtmlAlso iteresting: apparently it's toxic and if you oxidize it you can
make an explosive
You might counter with a sedative, but somehow that just doesn't sound
like a good idea. Good luck with the whole sleep thing.

Just one of the problems with Valium is that it may take 7 to 10 days to be
effective. By then the caffeine is long gone. That is why I ordered 4 pounds
of decaf beans from SM, so I could have that evening cup of coffee and not
worry about it. The worst that can happen is you are up 15 times that night
going to the bathroom. Freshroast decaf is quite good. But then again I guess
that doesn't explain why, at 2:50 AM I am slept out and up for the day :(

Oh, I don't know, I find that a good caffeine antidote is an Irish Coffee
and skip the coffee. A couple of those, and you'll forget about the
caffeine you had earlier.

The obvious answer Susan is DECAF HOMEROAST!! You could ask Tom for a
Decaf 8 pak sampler! There is life after caffeine....

Susan,
Homeroasted Decaf coffee is not too bad. I find that half-caff coffee helps
with the caffeine rush. Speaking of the caffeine jitters, testing coffee
with Mike McGuiness will test your endurance to caffeine. But is sure was
fun! I have found the Mexican Esmeralda Natural Decaf from Tom to be a very
"neutral" decaf for blending. You get a lot of the other varitial's flavors
with half the caffeine.

So this is the typical scenario
You started home roasting perfectly-cautiously with care and great
expectations.
Word spreads around quite quickly where there are gourmands.
The most delicious cup I ever tasted?
And so it begins and you are drinking a cup with so and so and later
this other person and after dinner a bit more-just a bit.......
well
today I had too much caffeine.Simple.
What is a caffeine rush buster?I am drinking cocoa and
marshmallows..........
