I'll agree Koa is some beautiful wood. Saw some fine examples. The most
dazzling was at Merle & Kathy's (Wood's Captain Cook Estate). He has a
custom built full ceiling height wall to wall Koa bookcase which included in
the center built to fit around his big screen / home theater equipment. Hand
selected pieces for doors etc. Simply stunning grains & textures. (Merle was
a corporate attorney for Nestlé's before getting out of the rat race, I
forget Kathy's occupation in her former life. Had 'money' before moving to
Kona to retire and become a 'farmer'...) We thoroughly enjoyed our couple
hour visit with them. Kathy drove us around in her/their little John Deer
cart affair (one at a time - only holds two people. Then Merle & I chatted
for a good hour and a half before Debi 'forced' me/us to leave. (It was well
past lunch time:-)
