OK! I'm given permission by the family CFO (spouse!) to buy a new espresso
Want to have: I want super-automation, dual heating element (coffee AND
steaming at the same time), no portafilters, and the ability for her to make
any type of coffee easy and fast.
Nice to have: self-rinsing/cleaning, cup preheating thingy!
Thinking of also buying: Automatic Milk Frother (Saeco makes one)
Don't care about: LCDs, Digital displays, multi-lingual controls, talking
back to humans etc...
Trying to be nice I have declared an artificial cap on my future spending;
$550. I have concluded that the best machine for what features and gizmos I
want to get for my money would be the Saeco Vienna de Luxe.
Well, until now I was making dreams and preparations to welcome the Saeco
machine onto the shelf with the Solis Maestro grinder, the vac-pot, and the
Alpenrost. And then, tonight, this popped up! Trevi Digital Plus!
Never heard of them before, can't find a decent review in the usual places.
Even CoffeeGeek.com has no reviews. It sells for $50 more than the Vieanna
de Luxe and has all of Saeco's features PLUS self-cleaning. Apparently, it
goes above my spending cap but $50 will not break me and the CFO will be
convinced on the merits of my financial irregularity!
So, I have two questions for you all:
1. What gives? Who is Spidem-Trevi? Can I trust them? Is the Trevi Digital
Plus better than the Saeco Vienna de Luxe???
2. (Less important:) Is this Automatic Milk Frother worth the $30 (average
price)? As a gesture to my wife, who loves milk in her coffee, it will be a
great purchase, but does it work?
Thank you for reading, thank you twice for answering...
