Topic: A Good Cup of Coffee (3 msgs / 71 lines)
1) From: R.N.Kyle
Jerry, from Peets, was on Martha's Kitchen (food channel)
showing the world how to make a really good cup of coffee.
He stress the importance of buying whole bean, and small quantities, =
keep in the refrigerator for short term, and the freezer for long term.
He was using a Bodium 32 oz. press pot, and a Krupps blade grinder. 5 =
rounded coffee scoops of beans, ground them (shaking the grinder as he =
went), emptied the grounds into the press pot, poured about a third of =
the water in and let it bloom,(swirling the pot, not stirring) after 15 =
sec. or so added to half way and swirled again, then added the rest, =
suggested 3 min. infusion, heated the cups. and poured the coffee. =
Martha said it was good, but the look on her face may have indicated =
different?
This is just a summary of the show, not that I indorse it.

I agree. I was not judging the procedure, or the integrity of Peets =
coffee. I was just putting in print for the list to read about, and if =
you watch the food channel they will most likely show it a couple of =
times this week.

Ron, She probably wasn't used to good coffee! Some people don't like press
pot coffee because of the fines. Danhomeroast mailing listhttp://lists.sweetmarias.com/mailman/listinfo/homeroast">http://lists.sweetmarias.com/mailman/listinfo/homeroasthomeroast mailing listhttp://lists.sweetmarias.com/mailman/listinfo/homeroast
