Topic: BBQ rotisserie motor speed (2 msgs / 43 lines)

After having an initial problem of wide variation in roast
colors using the 3 RPM Weber motor and Frontgate drum, I
switched to a CharBroil 6 rpm motor. Reduced roast time by
3 minutes (from 22 min to 19 minute) at 450 degrees and got
a very even dark Full City on 1 pound of SM Moka Kadir
preblend. I'm much happier. Now if I can convert Dan's 30
rpm motor, should be interesting. Jim Brockman in Florida

That is a truly interesting test. Thanks for the post! When Dan's motor
arrives, I will quickly adapt it to my BBQ Grill roaster and make some
comparisons of my own. Looks like a faster rotation will allow me to do
larger and more even roasts.
