Topic: bodum vac pot (2 msgs / 46 lines)
1) From: Mike Tenold
I've been a lurker for some time, started roasting
with a F.R. about 9 months ago. Make most of my
coffee with a Braun flavorselect drip pot, but I also
have a Bodum vac pot. With the Bodum I get wildly
different results, most bad. The main problem seems
to be that the coffee won't pass back down into the
bottom chamber, even after 10 minutes. At that time I
decide to give up and brew in the Braun. I've tried
different grinds, but I haven't found what seems to
work right. I did see a post where it was advised to
stretch the spring out that attaches to the filter
disk. I did that, but no luck. Any ideas would be
appreciated. Mike in GA

Hi Mike,
With what are you doing the grinding? I haven't looked at the filter
in a Bodum, but most vac pots are fairly sensitive to the presence of
dust in the ground coffee; very much of it will plug the filter and
you'll get a stall.
Best,
