Topic: LP tanks, was First brew... (2 msgs / 68 lines)

Lowes has the 25gallon/100 lb LP tank/bottle {it's "upright"} on sale for
$77. Note that this is the best price I've *ever* seen on this size tank.
Also, most places will fill a 25 gallon/100 lb tank for a cheaper price per
gallon than the 5 gallon/20 lb bottle. Many places will try and rip you off
by saying "oooh...you can't put but 4 gallons/80% in a 5 gallon tank". Note
that a 5 gallon/20 lb tank *is* supposed to hold "5 gallons/20 lbs" of gas.
Some tanks have what the tank should weigh "full of gas" stamped on the
tank. I've made one fellow really mad when he tried to rip me. He didn't
like the fact hat I knew and told him "put it on the scales...it's stamped
on the bottle what it should weigh when full". Foul language filled the air.
But in the end I got what I paid for. Believe me...it's a scam in my area
and if you don't watch 'em, you'll get ripped. - Steve D

Thanks for the heads up-it is really easy to convert to natural gas if you
have it available. Just connect it and drill out the orifices in each
burner a bit and you are good to go. Course you can go back to that same
crook and for $50 he will sell u a conversion kit. Yep crooks abound.
