I see you're spoiled too Ben. T1 rated 1.5Mbs and then shared with who ever
is using it at the time at your work. My cable download seldom tests that
'slow'! Just tested current download throughput: 1.987Mbs and it's all my
bandwidth. I often exceed 2Mbs. Smokes a modem, DSL and even T1 big time.
(now a T3 would be a whole different story!)

I can't match your 2Mbit speed, but does your corporate pay for your

Yup. When it became available in my area 5yrs ago or so I suggested
splitting the cost since it cost more than dialup, my manager said no,
they'd pay it all! Who am I to argue?
BTW, I'm basing dl speed figures on tests run from:http://tech.msn.com/internet/speedtest.aspMM;-) aka Kona Krazy miKe mcKoffee

I figured that was the answer. But then you work for "H"igh "P"riced
computers. Ah remembering the old days when fmgr, self segmenting
loaders, and HP getting the status lights wrong on their add for the the
21-MX (?).
Okay, but do you get to work in your PJ's and Robe?

main computer monitor!

Well, if you want to get technical, we're really running two T1s in
parallel, so we get up to 3Mbps. And there was no load on the lines at
that time. The peak throughput for the morning was about 400Kbps,
according to our network monitoring system, so it was not an issue of
shared bandwidth, either.
The problem was not a throughput problem, it was a web server response
problem. And it was intermittent. Sometimes the pages loaded
"instantly" other times I sat for a minute or more with Mozilla telling
me it was "Contacting [the web server]". Other servers responded just
fine at the same time (I never do just one thing at a time! :-)
=S
