Topic: Brrrr! 38f morning roast (23 lines)
1) From: Mike McGinness
Last roast session was Sunday, found myself low on Kona, enough for today
and tomorrow. Frosty outside, 23f on the back deck, checked the temp in the
attached uninsulated garage where I roast, much better, a "balmy" 38f.
Pre-heated the Rosto (as I always do first batch by running 4min with heat
then cooling cycle). My standard 1/3# batch went no problem. Used my cooler
running Rosto, the one I split the fan power line. Max heater voltage during
5min equalization ramp to 350f was 112v, max voltage during 10f per min
ramp to 440 was 121v. Not bad considering it's my cooler running Rosto.
I'll also say the fixed 120v fan cools the batch fairly fast at 38f
ambient! I'm liking the heater controlled separate from the fan. Look
forward to adding variac control to the fan, work in progress, parts
acquisition stage.
