Topic: Thank-you thank-You THANK-YOU! (48 lines)

Just have to take a moment and thank everyone on the list for aiding my
coffee enlightenment journey to where it is today. Prior to discovering
homeroasting two short years ago, I thought I was fairly coffee savvy and
picky about buying the freshest roasts I could find. Didn't use paper
filters, swiss gold in the drip. French Press on weekends. And had been
using a "burr" grinder for a decade. (yeah, cheapo Braun the whole decade!)
I knew about deguassing and could tell if the beans I got were fresh by how
they acted after I vac' sealed them at home. But oh what a journey it's
been.
While this list can be EXPENSIVE, it takes what it takes to brew cups like I
do now. After pulling 6 back to back doubles this morning for a batch of
'Road Warrior' chilled white chocolate Kona mocha I noted with delight that
all 6 double shots were within milliliters of each other, same time pull of
26sec. 4 grinders in 2 years and Rocky gets it right! (doesn't count the
Zass' Turkish Mill, it's for travel etc.) Then pulled a double shot
Americano of Kona Mountain roasted yesterday morning, about 25hrs rest.
(Second batch of Kona using the Rosto split voltage and new profile.) This
cup prompted me to write this thank-you. Another how can it get any better
cup! I can't compare it to the Wood's Kona I roasted Sunday same profile
cause I finished it off on my previous cup this morning! Which by the way
was also excellent, though I believe slightly better at 24hrs than 5 days:-)
And those after work Americanos of Kenya French roast this week (460f,
16min, also roasted Sunday) have been most excellent too. Gone too for now.
Last of it mixed with Austalian Skybury (about 1:4)) for morning eVac pot.
Not bad at all. Roasted some Ethiopian Harrar Makea last night same profile.
Will try it tonight.
Drip long since replaced by eVac for daily morning first pot. French
Press(es) not replaced (have 6 of them, 4 three cuppers for cuppings) but
Miss Silvia primary method of brewing. Favorite cup of coffee 18gr double
shot topped off with hot water for 10oz Americano. Who knew it could be so
good!!!
Just took another sip of this delightful Kona Mountain Americano. One damn
fine cup of coffee! Thanks one and all.
Now I do have to get some work done so Happy Roasting & Brewing one and all!
