Topic: 1st Kona (3 msgs / 72 lines)
1) From: AlChemist John
Thanks to the generosity of Les (thanks Les), I have had my first taste of
a home roasted Kona. Where as I can not say exactly which one it was (Les
only said that it was one of the less acidic {I am not a bright coffee fan
as a rule}) I can make two comment.
1) It is hands down better than any of the pre roasted "kona" I have
had in the past.
2) Roasted just shy of 2nd crack, it is a damn fine cup of coffee. I
cannot wax elegantly like MMcKona, except to say it was a very balanced
cup, tasting quite good hot to cool.
Thanks again Les!

Mike McKona!
We have another Kona Mountain Convert! After cupping with Mike in October,
I discovered that there is an amazing wide variety in Kona. I personally
like all of them, but as you can see from Alchemist John's report, some of
them are not as bright!
But OH! do they taste good. I am thinking I should have roasted a Kona for
tomarrow instead of the ISH. Life has such hard choices at times
