Topic: help- My Rosto went bye-bye (13 lines)

I believe that the Rosto is very sensitive to build-up of chaff in the chaff collector. I am on my 3rd Rosto in 3 months because it seems that the thermal fuse kept breaking. I was doing every correct and filling the machine with the proper amount of beans, cleaning the machine very carefully after every batch. The 1st machine just died and I never got a dark roast in less than 20 minutes. (It was obviously defective). The 2nd machine died, after one week of responsible roasting. I even waited 20 minutes between roasting. It just began to blow cold air only.
I suggested to Steve at Brightway that maybe I should get a surge protector. Steve sent me a modified one back in one week and I have not had any problems since. I roast continuously for one hour and everything is perfect.
My suggestion for Ken is to get a surge protector. It has not caused any slowdown of my roasting. I get a vienna roast at around 9 minutes. Another suggestion is to get at least one other backup so that you are never without excellent coffee. I hope this helps.
