I've been thinking I wanted the ability to set a timer on the cooling cycle,
similar to what's built in to the Rosto. Wasn't sure what to use then it hit
me. Mechanical ac switch timer as used for bathroom heaters and or fans etc.
Perfect. I'll wire it in with a toggle switch between fan power on switch
(which feeds fan controller) and the timer switch. That way I'll have the
option of timed or constant on voltage controlled fan.
Then I thought, why not do the same for the heater controller too! Won't use
it often but will be nice to have. Build this sucker with every feature I
can think of! (short of the total automation concept temp'/time feedback
computer controlled of course:-) If doing a bunch of roast batches
(Christmas etc.) and don't want to spend the time to exact profile each one,
set desired fan speed/voltage, set desired heater voltage (as determined by
past experience and test run of course) and then for example set the fan
timer to 18min and the heater timer to 14min and walk away. Roasts for 14min
and cools for additional 4min. Oh, that's sort of the way the Rosto came!
But without being able to adjust heater or fan of course:-)
