Topic: Traeger BBQ coffee roasting! (7 msgs / 88 lines)

All this talk of building gas grill coffee roasters got me going. Why not a
wood pellet fuelled Traeger?http://home.attbi.com/~mdmint/coffee/traegercoffeeroasting.htmMM;-) aka Kona Konnaisseur miKe mcKoffee

After looking at your page, why not just get an over the fire popcorn
popper, the Androck works quite well,
fire up the Traeger and see what you can do?

In reality the Traeger wouldn't work very well for coffee roasting. Doesn't
max out temp wise high enough... 'bout 450f if you leave it closed for
1/2hr! Course that's this time of year with ambient down around freezing.
During warmer months might be able to pull it off but I'm not going to.
Unfortunately I gave my old gas grill away after getting the Traeger, now
wishing I hadn't. And now have been thinking of buying another one to play
with coffee roasting!

For shame miKe! I guess no one mentioned that the old gas grill is a great
place to store the accessories for the Traeger.
